Gagra (or Gagry) is the famous Abkhazian resort that stretches from Sochi to the Bzyb river through 53 km. It has 70,000 citizens of different nationalities: Abkhazs, Russians, Georgians, Ukrainians, Estonians, Armenians and Greeks. Gagra is generous with picturesque nature, red cheeked sun looking like fresh baked bread, sightseeings and hospitality. Mountains in Gagra are nearest to the shore bordering the shore with bright verdure and making special micro climate. It makes perfect city air-conditioning due to the hight difference.
Ritsa Lake is the mountain lake of glacier and tectonic origin. It is popular recreation place among tourists and one of the Abkhazia’s miracles. It is placed 950 m above sea level and surrounded from all sides by the mountains covered with dense forests. Water in the lake never froses and the maximum water temperature is registered in August +17oC - +20oC. Water has deep green and blue colour and is pure deep to 8-10 m. Brook trout is the only type of fish in the lake.
